Banham et Dallegret proposent que l’habitation ne soit plus une question de logement, mais plutôt un conditionnement de l’environnement. En ce sens, l’« Environmental Bubble » représente un croquis de la scission de l’architecture à des impératifs technologiques, son enveloppe réduite à un geste symbolique de l’enceinte, presque invisible, et littéralement contraint à ses limites à la fois matérielles et disciplinaires.

Banham and Dallegret proposed that housing is no longer a question of housing, but rather, a conditioning of the environment. In this sense, the “Environmental Bubble” represents a sketch of the transfer of architecture to technological imperatives, its envelope reduced to a symbolic gesture of the enclosure, almost invisible, and literally constrained to its limits both material and disciplinary.
